Ellen 20 is a chrome Nordlux table lamp with a rounded, half-sphere metal shade on a thin 1.15 cm tube and a round base. The whole lamp has a mirror-bright chrome finish, and a clear cable leaves from the base.
Size and table space
The lamp is 40 cm tall, and the shade is 20 cm across and 10 cm high. It takes up a 20 × 20 cm footprint on the tabletop and weighs 1.02 kg. The cable is 150 cm long, so check that it reaches the nearest socket; it cannot be replaced with a longer one.
Bulb and light
The lamp has one E14 socket for a bulb of up to 40 W. The bulb is not included — you choose the colour and brightness, and at this limit an E14 LED bulb is the practical choice. The opaque metal shade sends the light down onto the surface below and keeps it out of the eyes of someone sitting at the table.
The lamp cannot be dimmed, so an ordinary non-dimmable bulb is the right match. The switch is on the cable. It is protection class II and intended for indoor use only.
Style and finish
Nordlux draws on minimalist Scandinavian design here: the light, slender frame contrasts with the fuller shade. It suits a living room or bedroom, on a chest of drawers or a bedside table, and the same range also comes in light brown.
