Norlys Rimini 259WH outdoor wall light, E27, IP54, white

Rimini 259WH is a classic Norlys wall lantern: a hexagonal diffuser with clear panes, a roof topped by a finial and a decorative bracket with a curled arm. The lantern sits on top of the arm, above the fixing point. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium in white (RAL 9003).

Size and installation

The light is 46 cm tall and projects 26 cm from the wall; its wall plate is 19 cm high. It fixes through two ø5 mm holes 23 × 120 mm apart. The manufacturer also provides for mounting on the corner of a building, which needs the corner bracket 150, sold separately.

The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and an EPDM gland seals a round-sheathed cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. The light weighs 1.7 kg.

The light it gives

The E27 lampholder takes an LED lamp of up to 9 W in an A55–A60 bulb, the shape of an ordinary light bulb. No lamp is included, so you choose colour temperature and brightness yourself; the manufacturer names Philips Master LEDbulb and Osram LED Parathom Classic as examples. The user changes the lamp.

The clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffuser does not hide the source, so light spreads sideways, up and down, and the lamp is visible through the panes.

Construction and use

IP54 protection means resistance to dust and to water splashed from any direction, which is enough on an outside wall. Protection class II means double insulation, so the light needs no earth connection. The classic lantern shape with its roof and finial suits the façades of traditionally styled houses.
