The NORLYS Skara 2956BL is an 85 cm bollard light made from extruded aluminium profile powder-coated black (RAL 9005), with a 12 × 24 cm cross-section. At the top is a flat head with an LED module, and halfway up are two Schuko sockets under flip covers, so it combines path lighting with a power point in the garden.
The sockets in the bollard
Both sockets are type F (Schuko), 16 A. The maker allows a load of 3600 W on one socket in use, or 1800 W each when both are used, so the bollard takes the place of an extension lead run from the house. Skara versions with type E sockets have their own index numbers – this one is for plugs with side earth contacts.
How it lights
The 5.8 W LED module (the whole fitting draws 7.7 W) gives 828 lm, of which 604 lm leave through the clear PMMA lens, at 3000 K, which is warm white. The Ledil VSM lens has an IESNA type V distribution that spreads light evenly all round the bollard. Only 1.94% of the flux goes upwards (ULOR), and the BUG rating B1-U1-G1 means little stray light beyond the lit area.
The fitting is controlled over DALI2: it is dimmed and switched via the DALI bus, not with an ordinary phase dimmer. The 5 × 2.5 mm² terminals take the supply conductors together with the control pair and let everything loop on to the next bollard; the gland takes a cable up to ø12.5 mm. The maker allows 82 of these fittings on one B 10 A breaker and 130 on a B 16 A.
Mounting, robustness and service
The bollard bolts down through four ø7 mm holes at 64 × 64 mm centres; the concrete anchor (2934) is ordered separately. IP54 protects against dust and splashing water, IK08 against impacts, and protection class II needs no earth conductor. The LED module keeps 90% of its flux for more than 109,000 h (L90), the driver is rated at 100,000 h, and both are replaced by a service technician – Norlys lists them as spare parts 4699102107 (module) and 4699210300 (driver).
