MIRENZO is an outdoor ceiling light shaped as a closed cylinder 9 cm across and 13.5 cm tall. The body is cast from a sandstone and cement composite in black, with a matt surface and a visible fine speckle of aggregate. It has one light point: a GU10 lamp sits behind a flat glass lens in the lower rim of the cylinder.

Where it can be mounted

The fitting is surface-mounted on the ceiling and projects 13.5 cm below it, while its base takes up a circle 9 cm across — so it also fits a narrow soffit above a doorway. A cable has to reach the mounting point before the light goes up: it runs on 230 V from the house wiring.

IP65 means a dust-tight housing that withstands water jets, not only drops — the fitting takes rain blown under a canopy by the wind. The manufacturer intends it for a terrace and a garden gazebo.

Which lamp to buy for it

The fitting takes one GU10 lamp of at most 10 W, and no lamp is supplied. That ceiling settles the type: GU10 halogens start at 20 W, so LED is what is left.

The manufacturer states neither colour temperature nor luminous flux, because the lamp you buy brings both — 2700 K gives warm, slightly yellow light close to the old incandescent bulb, 4000 K a neutral white. The fitting itself is not dimmable.

How it lights and what it is made of

The cylinder is closed at the top and around the sides, and the only opening is the lens at the bottom, pressed in by a gasket and a ring on three screws. Light therefore goes straight down, under the fitting; how wide the pool is depends on the beam angle of the lamp you choose, because the housing does not spread it.

A sandstone and cement body is heavier and rougher to the touch than the usual painted-aluminium fitting, and its mineral texture stays visible close up. The form is plain, without ornament and without a movable head — the direction of light cannot be changed once it is installed.
