Outdoor wall light NORLYS Sigrid 235AL E27, light grey RAL 9006, with LED bulb and sensor

Sigrid 235AL is an outdoor wall light with a conical shade 25 cm across, hung from a curved arm with a round wall plate. The shade is light grey (RAL 9006), while the arm and plate are black; the body and shade are powder-coated steel. The manufacturer describes the design as Scandinavian.

Size and installation

The light is 32 cm high and 25 cm wide and projects 33 cm from the wall, so compare that reach with the space beside a door, on a terrace or along a passage. The wall plate is 11.5 cm in diameter and the whole fitting weighs 1.8 kg. A mounting box is included; a mounting spacer, a corner bracket and decorative M6 cap nuts (black, brass or copper) are sold separately.

The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm² and allow the next fitting to be supplied in a loop (up to 2 × 1.5 mm²), and the cable entry seals a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. Class II means no protective earth conductor is needed. IP65 and IK09 describe a dust-tight housing that resists water jets and impacts, so the light can hang on an exposed wall.

A bulb with motion and dusk sensing

The box includes a clear LEDVANCE Classic A60 E27 filament bulb rated 7.3 W and 806 lm at 2700 K, a warm, slightly yellowish light like a traditional bulb. The bulb itself carries the motion and dusk sensor (marked MD/DS), so the light switches on after dark when someone approaches. The shade screens the light from above: 229 lm leave the fitting, all of it downwards (ULOR 0%), onto the wall and ground below without lighting the sky. The manufacturer rates the bulb at over 15,000 h (L70); the light source is energy class E.

The user replaces the bulb. Only glass LED lamps in G125, G95, ST64 or A60 shape up to 12 W fit, and they are screwed in by the neck, not the glass. An ordinary LED bulb will light the fitting but without the sensor; Norlys lists the original bulb as a spare part (code 4699990111).
