Venice 261WH is an outdoor wall light shaped as half of a classic lantern: a pointed roof with a finial, a glazed body and a decorative drop at the bottom, with a flat back that sits against the wall. It is cast in aluminium and powder-coated white (RAL 9003), and the panes are clear, UV-stabilised polycarbonate.
Size and mounting
The light is 44 cm high and 24.5 cm wide and projects 13 cm from the wall – measurements to compare with the space beside a front door or on a terrace pillar. It weighs 2.1 kg and is screwed to the wall through two ø4.5 mm holes at 90 mm spacing, following the instructions supplied with the luminaire.
The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm². The supply cable must have a round sheath of 7–10.5 mm diameter, because only then does the EPDM gland grip it tightly and the luminaire keep its protection rating. The light is protection class II, so it needs no protective earth.
What light it gives
It takes one E27 lamp in A55–A60 shape; the manufacturer allows an LED source of up to 9 W. The lamp is not included, so you choose the brightness and colour of the light yourself – for an entrance or terrace a warm 2700–3000 K is the usual choice. The light is not shielded and leaves sideways through the clear panes, lighting the wall and the area in front of it. The lamp itself is visible through the panes, so its shape becomes part of how the lantern looks.
Where it fits
IP54 means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, so the light can hang on a façade without a canopy. It operates from −20 to +45 °C. Norlys designed it for lighting terraces, entrances and gazebos, and its classic lantern outline suits houses of traditional architecture. Should the panes get damaged, the diffuser is available as a spare part (service kit 06261002). The same series also includes a black version, 261BL.
