Rendl ELISA R11893 pendant suspension set, black chrome, E27

Rendl ELISA R11893 is a pendant suspension set with a round metal ceiling canopy, black textile-covered cable and metal E27 lampholder. Its black-chrome finish gives the canopy and lampholder a reflective surface. This is the suspension for assembling a pendant, not a lampshade; the manufacturer also permits use without a shade.

Choose a shade or leave the bulb visible

Without a shade, the bulb remains exposed, so its shape becomes part of the fitting's appearance. No light source is supplied. Choose a 230 V E27 LED bulb rated at no more than 15 W. The selected bulb determines the colour and amount of light: these are not fixed properties of the suspension itself.

Rendl lists the following compatible shade sizes: DOUBLE 40/30 and 55/30, ASPRO 40/30 and 55/30, RON 40/25, 55/30 and 60/19, and TEMPO 30/19 and 50/19. Compatibility refers to those specific versions. A matching family name does not, on its own, establish that a different size will fit.

Allow for the complete assembly

The cable is 150 cm long. The round ceiling canopy measures 10 cm in diameter and 2 cm high; these are not the dimensions of the complete pendant or a shade. When planning the hanging position, include the dimensions of the separately chosen bulb and any shade. The installation instructions require a qualified installer and disconnection of the mains supply before work begins.

A visible lampholder as part of the design

The slender black cable and exposed metal fitting suit modern and industrial interior schemes. The set can form part of living-room, bedroom or dining-area lighting. Whether the light source is screened depends on the chosen shade. Rendl specifies dimming with a suitable light source. If dimming is required, check the bulb's compatibility with the intended dimmer rather than assuming that every E27 bulb supports it.
