Rendl TORD R14253 white semi-recessed ceiling light, GU10, Ø8 cm

Rendl TORD R14253 is a white aluminium ceiling light designed for semi-recessed installation in plasterboard. Its offset construction leaves a short cylindrical body visible beneath the ceiling rather than just a flat trim ring. The manufacturer describes this arrangement as a solution for indirect lighting.

Check the ceiling void, not just the visible size

The light has an outside diameter of 8 cm, with a 4 cm visible body dimension shown in the drawing. That measurement is not the space required above the plasterboard. Installation calls for a circular cut-out measuring 6.8 cm across and a recess depth of 10 cm. Check the outside size, opening and available depth separately before deciding where to place it.

This distinction matters when an existing suspended ceiling offers limited room above the board. Compare the proposed installation with the manufacturer's drawing and manual before cutting. TORD operates at 230 V; the instructions require a qualified installer and isolation of the electrical supply before work begins.

A replaceable GU10 LED lamp

The fitting takes one GU10 LED bulb rated at no more than 9 W. The bulb is not included, so it must be selected separately. Brightness and colour temperature come from that choice, rather than from a fixed LED module inside the fitting. The ceiling light itself therefore does not specify a single lumen output or light colour.

Dimming is possible with a suitable light source. If brightness control is required, choose a dimmable bulb and compatible controls rather than assuming every GU10 LED can be dimmed.

A small architectural detail

The plain white cylinder and undecorated surfaces suit modern and minimalist interiors. TORD can form part of a lighting scheme for a living room, bedroom, dining room, entrance hall or corridor with suitable plasterboard construction. Its indirect-lighting role should be considered when planning the scheme; it is not a promise of task lighting or a particular brightness throughout the room.
