This is a cover for the base of the s.luce Ixa wall light, not a complete luminaire. A metal cube with a 10 cm edge, open at the top and bottom, in a chrome finish. It slips over an already mounted Ixa base and decides how the wall light looks once it is up.
What you get and what is needed separately
The pack holds one cover in the chosen colour. The Ixa base with its LED module is not part of it and is bought separately — on its own the cover does not light. The manufacturer offers the base in black and white, and the cover is taken off and put on by hand, so the look of the wall light can be changed later without touching the wiring.
Size and how it spreads light
The square metal cover measures 10 x 10 x 10 cm. That figure is worth comparing with the other versions in the series, because the wood and concrete covers measure 11.5 cm and the travertine ones 11 cm — on one wall it is better to keep to a single size.
The cube is open top and bottom with closed sides. Light therefore leaves in two cones, up and down the wall rather than sideways. That distribution is typical of wall lights in this shape and is worth allowing for when spacing several of them.
Chrome is for indoor use
The cover is metal with a chrome finish, so its surface is smooth and mirrors its surroundings, unlike the matt black and white versions. The manufacturer names only the black, white, anthracite and stainless steel versions as suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The chrome variant is not on that list, so it is intended for interiors.
