Serving Bowl Merapi Brown M

Merapi M by Bazar Bizar is a ceramic serving bowl with an elongated, curved outline and raised ends. Its brown interior glaze combines dark areas with lighter speckled patches, while the outside has a more uniform appearance. Part of the Merapi collection, it differs from a conventional round bowl both in its narrow footprint and its changing rim height.

Plan around the elongated shape

The bowl measures 16.5 cm long, 7.5 cm wide and 6.4 cm high. When arranging a table, allow for the length rather than treating it as a round dish: it occupies noticeably more space along one axis than the other. Compare these measurements with the plates and serving dishes you already use instead of judging its size from the photograph alone.

The manufacturer identifies salads, pasta and fruit as serving uses. This M version is a small vessel, however, so base the amount you intend to serve on its actual dimensions. It can form part of kitchen or dining-room tableware for presenting smaller quantities of food. The curved profile and raised ends give it a different outline from a salad bowl with an even rim.

Brown glaze within the Merapi collection

The handle-free form and restrained exterior suit a modern, pared-back table setting. Inside, the changing brown tones provide a more varied surface. You can combine the bowl with other Merapi tableware. Because the pieces are handmade, the shade, distribution of glaze and small irregularities can vary between examples. The photograph therefore illustrates one piece rather than a pattern repeated identically on every bowl.

Cleaning and everyday handling

The manufacturer confirms suitability for food contact, microwave use and dishwasher cleaning. For washing by hand, use warm water, mild dish soap and a soft cloth or sponge, then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive tools, harsh cleaners and sudden temperature changes to protect the glazed surface from scratches or chips.
