Skara 2940AL LED bollard light 85 cm, light grey, 3000 K DALI2 NORLYS

Skara 2940AL is an 85 cm bollard light made from an extruded aluminium profile, powder-coated in light grey RAL 9006. A cantilevered head at the top directs the light of the integrated LED module downwards through a Ledil VSM lens. The luminaire is rated IP65 and IK08 for impact resistance.

Dimensions and installation

The body measures 12 × 24 cm in cross-section, where 24 cm is the depth including the projecting head — the space it takes at the edge of a path or terrace. It weighs 5.5 kg and is bolted down through four ø7 mm holes on a 64 × 64 mm pattern. The concrete-in anchor (2934ZX0009) is sold separately and is needed for installation in the ground.

The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm², and the gland takes a round-sheathed cable up to 12.5 mm across. The luminaire can be looped through, so several bollards run from one circuit: the manufacturer gives up to 82 units on a B10 breaker and up to 130 on a B16. Protection class II means no earth conductor is required.

What light it gives

The module draws 7.7 W and the luminaire puts out 604 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. The lens with an IESNA Type V distribution spreads the light symmetrically around the bollard rather than as a single pool in front of it, so the surface is lit on every side. A BUG rating of B1-U1-G1 and a ULOR of 1.86% mean very little light escapes upwards — useful in a garden where you do not want to brighten the sky or the neighbours' windows. CRI 80 is enough to tell the colours of paving and plants.

Brightness is controlled over DALI2, so dimming needs a DALI controller or a DALI installation.

Lifetime and servicing

The manufacturer states an L90 lifetime of over 109,000 hours for the module: after that time the LED still delivers at least 90% of its initial flux. The driver is rated for 100,000 hours. The LED module and the driver are available as spare parts, but they are replaced by a professional service, not by the user. The optical assembly itself — module and lens — is sealed to IP67.

The plain rectangular body without ornament suits a modern and Scandinavian style. The bollard is intended for private grounds: by a terrace, along a driveway and along paths on the property.
