NUMINOS DL L is a round recessed fitting from SLV's modular downlight family, finished in black with a chrome interior. It measures 13 cm across at 8.5 cm high and sets into an 11.7 cm cut-out, 9 cm deep.

The driver is bought separately — and that is not a detail

The fitting is electrical class III, run at 700 mA constant current. It does not connect to 230 V directly: an external LED driver is required and the manufacturer does not supply one. SLV names driver 1004062 (21-29.5 W, 500/600/700 mA) as the match for this model. One driver will usually serve more than one fitting, but the plan has to allow space for it above the ceiling and a separate line in the budget.

Light quality: CRI 90 and UGR ≤ 19

2350 lumens at 25.41 W is a lot for a fitting this size, but two other numbers matter more here. CRI 90 means faithful colour rendering — the difference shows on timber, on fabric and on goods in a display, where cheaper CRI 80 diodes flatten the reds. UGR ≤ 19 is the threshold at which a fitting satisfies the requirements for office workstations and screen work; with a 40° beam the light falls in a concentrated cone and the diode sits back behind the rim, so it does not glare at a normal viewing angle.

IP20 / IP44 and mechanical resistance

The manufacturer quotes two ingress ratings: IP20 for the fitting as a whole and IP44 from the room side once installed — the visible face is protected against splashing water. That opens the way to a bathroom outside the shower zone. Impact resistance IK02 corresponds to 0.2 J and is typical of interior fittings. The operating range is -20 to +40 °C.

A system, not a single lamp

NUMINOS is a system: for this same fitting SLV offers a prismatic diffuser (1004795) and a frosted one (1004796), which change the character of the light without replacing the fitting, plus a reduction ring 1006143 for dropping the L model into a larger existing cut-out. A replacement LED module, 791825, is also listed — when the diode reaches its end the fitting need not come out of the ceiling. Declared service life is 50 000 h to L80B50, and the warranty runs to five years.
