Targeted detection for long circulation routes

Steinel IS 345 KNX V3.1 is a round black infrared motion detector for surface mounting on a ceiling. It is made for locations where the detection field needs to be narrow and long, including corridors, passageways, multi-storey car parks and entrance routes. The sensor communicates in a KNX installation and provides precise motion-based control.

Technical highlights

• 360° detection with a 45° aperture angle;
• up to 12 × 6 m radial and 23 × 6 m tangential reach;
• mounting height from 2.5 to 5 m, ideally 2.5 m;
• black RAL 9005 plastic housing with IP54 protection;
• 126 mm diameter, 65 mm height and 0.163 kg net weight.

KNX control with useful adjustment range

Settings are available through ETS software, the KNX bus or compatible remote control. The detector offers a 2–1000 lux twilight setting, a 5-second to 15-minute time setting, basic light level and presence-related functions. This makes it a practical component when lighting behaviour needs to follow actual use while remaining part of a programmed building-control system.

Planned applications

The elongated detection pattern suits office circulation areas, hotel corridors and parking structures especially well. IP54 also supports sheltered outdoor locations when the complete installation is designed accordingly. A large terminal compartment helps the installer make orderly connections during surface installation.
