The Steinel IS345 DALI-2 APC AP is a round, surface-mounted motion detector from the Professional Line, designed for ceiling installation both indoors and outdoors (IP54). It combines a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor with light-level measurement, so it reacts to both movement and the amount of daylight present.
Detection and range
The detector covers a full 360°, and a dedicated corridor lens with a 45° opening angle gives a radial coverage of 12 × 6 m (72 m²), or up to 23 × 6 m (138 m²) tangentially when aligned along a corridor. Recommended mounting height is 2.5–5 m, with an optimum of 2.8 m.
DALI-2 APC control
The APC version works in DALI Broadcast mode, controlling up to 30 DALI ballasts at once on a single line, with no individual addressing via an external controller (individually addressable sensors in this range are the DALI-2 IPD variant). It supports cabled master/slave networking, a base-light function, constant light control, and a 4-hour manual override of the automatic mode. The twilight threshold, time setting and other parameters are adjusted via potentiometers, a remote control or the universal Smart Remote, with a teach-in function.
