NUMINOS XL CL PHASE is a surface-mounted ceiling spotlight shaped as a matte black cylinder, 12 cm across and 25.8 cm tall. It needs no aperture and no ceiling void — it fixes directly to the structure, concrete included. The integrated 28 W LED module delivers 3150 lumens at a 60° half-peak beam angle, which makes this a tool for lighting larger areas rather than for pinpoint accent work.
Phase dimming
The PHASE variant dims on trailing-edge (RC) phase control — it works with ordinary wall-box dimmers, with no bus or separate controller. That is the simplest route to brightness control in an existing installation: swap the switch for a dimmer rated for capacitive loads. The module's secondary current is 700 mA.
Light quality
At 3000 K the light is warm white — easy on the eye and comfortable to sit under for long periods. Colour rendering is 90, above the 80 typical of technical fittings: fabrics, timber, food and skin tones look natural, without the washed-out reds of cheaper LEDs. An efficacy of 112.5 lm/W places the fitting high among surface-mounted spotlights in this colour-rendering class. Rated service life is 50,000 hours.

Installation and circuit design
The fitting is class I, so the circuit needs a PE earth conductor. Inrush current is worth noting: 10 A for 50 µs. The manufacturer states that up to 54 fittings can share one circuit protected by a B16A or C16A breaker — a material figure when planning lighting for larger interiors, since LED driver electronics can trip a breaker at switch-on well before the continuous-load limit is reached. The IP20 rating restricts installation to dry rooms.
Where it works
A 60° beam and 3150 lm is a general-lighting combination: a shop, a showroom, an office, an open kitchen, a tall living room. One fitting covers a substantial area, so the grid spacing will be wider than with typical 24° spotlights. The matte black finish and deeply set light source limit glare when viewed from the side, which is why the fitting tolerates mounting at heights where a conventional spot would be uncomfortable. Dimming lets a single circuit serve both a daytime working level and a quieter evening scene.
