The VASAGLE LBS078B01 from the BRYCE collection is a shoe bench with a particleboard top in rustic vintage brown, set on a black steel frame. Two steel mesh shelves for shoes run beneath the top, and the bench stands on four height-adjustable feet.
Size and where it fits in a hallway
The bench is 100 cm long, 30 cm deep and 45 cm high. A depth of 30 cm is modest — against the wall of a narrow hallway it leaves more room for the walkway, for which around 80 cm is the usual allowance. So compare the width of your own hallway with 30 cm plus those 80 cm.
The top sits 45 cm off the floor, the height of an ordinary chair seat, so you can sit on it comfortably to put on or tie your shoes. The adjustable feet let you level the bench on an uneven floor so it does not rock when you sit down.
How much it holds and how much it carries
Both shelves are 100 cm long, and the manufacturer says that together they hold 8–10 pairs of shoes, depending on size. The shelves are mesh, so air passes through them freely, while the flat top gives you somewhere to put down a bag, a basket or your keys.
The manufacturer rates the top for a maximum static load of 90 kg — that is the limit for everyone sitting on it together, not per person. Each mesh shelf takes up to 5 kg, which means it is meant for footwear rather than heavy items. The manufacturer also states that children should not climb or play on the bench.
Materials, assembly and what is in the box
The top is particleboard, while the frame and shelves are black steel — a wood-look board on raw metal is an industrial look, and the manufacturer intends the bench for the hallway and the living room. The box holds the bench in parts, an accessory pack with the fixings and an illustrated manual; assembly means tightening the screws and fitting the feet. The manual is in German, English, Spanish, French and Italian. According to the manufacturer the bench weighs 10.3 kg.
