The LUC16W is a square SONGMICS umbrella stand made of white powder-coated sheet metal. The walls are cut into a wide zigzag that keeps the contents visible, and hooks for folded umbrellas are fixed along the top edge.
How much floor it takes
The base is a 15.5 × 15.5 cm square and the stand rises 49 cm above the floor. Both figures are worth comparing with the free strip of floor along your hallway wall: with a footprint this narrow the column fits into the corner beside the door, and at 49 cm the umbrella handles stay within reach.
The height also decides how far the umbrellas disappear. A stick umbrella rests on the bottom and sticks out above the rim, while a folding one would vanish inside completely — which is what the hooks are for, holding shorter umbrellas on the outside of the wall.
What is in the box and where the water goes
Besides the stand itself, the box holds hooks and a plastic drip tray. The tray slides onto the bottom and collects the water running off wet umbrellas; you then lift it out and pour it away, so no water is left standing on the floor under the stand.
What it is made of
The body is iron sheet with a powder-coated finish. That coating handles contact with moisture better than ordinary paint, which on a container that regularly takes wet umbrellas translates directly into corrosion resistance.
Non-slip pads are stuck to the underside, separating the metal base from the floor and making the stand harder to push around. The whole thing weighs about 2 kg, so an empty stand moves with one hand.
