Luna Ball garden sphere lights give a soft, even glow that marks a path, a flower bed or a terrace without glare. Luna Ball is Lunares' own line of glowing garden spheres: thick-walled acrylic globes on a black base, with a replaceable E27 LED bulb inside, made to stand in a garden all year.
What a Luna Ball is
The shade is made of PMMA, an acrylic, either milky white or clear. The white version is UV-resistant, so it does not yellow in the sun, and its thick walls hide the bulb and spread the light evenly over the whole sphere. Clear spheres show the bulb, which suits a decorative filament or coloured bulb. The base is black polycarbonate and unscrews for a bulb change. Luna Balls are rated IP44 against splashing water and IK08 for impact, and they run on 230 V. Sizes go from 15 cm to 60 cm across, sold singly or as sets of two to four spheres in mixed sizes, and some sets come with RGBW bulbs and a remote for coloured light.

Groups of three in different sizes look more natural than a row of identical balls.
Installation and power
Spheres sold with an installation kit have a ground spike and a 3 m cable with a plug, so they can stand in a bed and plug into an outdoor socket. A standing version with a ring sits on paving or decking. For a permanent setup, a buried garden cable to a power post is neater, and that part of the job is for a qualified electrician. The light depends on the bulb: warm white for a cosy terrace, cooler white for a modern look, and a dimmable LED bulb if you want to dim it.
Care
Wipe the sphere with water and a soft cloth; avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which dull acrylic. Replacement shades are sold separately and fit the Luna Ball base of the same diameter.
Questions about Luna Ball
Can a Luna Ball stay outside in winter?
Luna Balls are made for outdoor use all year. Make sure the plug and socket are also rated for outdoor use and keep them off wet ground.
Are Luna Balls solar powered?
No. They run on mains power with an E27 LED bulb, which gives a brighter, steadier light than a small solar cell, even after a cloudy day.
Which bulb goes into a Luna Ball?
An E27 LED bulb within the wattage stated for that diameter. LED runs cool, so the acrylic is not stressed by heat.
