Bowi: practical LED lighting from Poland
Bowi is a Polish company from Jankowo Gdańskie, near Gdańsk, which runs an electrical wholesale business and sells LED lighting under its own name. Its range is plainly practical. Instead of decorative living-room lamps, it offers fittings whose job is simply to light well: on a façade, in a garden, across a car park or along a road, in a warehouse or on a vehicle. Bowi products carry their own EAN codes and series names such as Flow, Aland, Rand, Volter and Gwyn, and their data sheets give wattage, luminous flux, colour temperature and IP rating.
Bowi at Lunares
At Lunares you will find these types of Bowi technical fitting:
-
Outdoor wall lights – slim aluminium LED façade lights, such as the IP54 Flow series, for marking an entrance or lighting a terrace wall.
-
Industrial lighting – Rand LED street lamps with Nichia diodes, for access roads, car parks and yards.
-
Outdoor spotlights – Aland linear fittings rated IP44, which wash a façade with a band of light.
-
Directional work lights – Gwyn lamps running on 12/24 V, for mounting on vehicles and machines and for use off-road.
What to look at before you buy
-
IP rating. IP44 is fine under a canopy or on a sheltered wall, IP54 copes better with rain, and lights fitted to vehicles or set beside a road need a higher seal still.
-
Colour temperature. 3000 K gives a warm, welcoming light on a façade, 4000 K is the neutral white typical of roads and car parks, and 6000 K is a cool working light.
-
Wattage and output. A street lamp is matched to the pole height and the width of the road; a wall light to whether it should just mark the door or light the whole wall.
-
Power supply. Mains fittings run on 230 V, while work lights run on 12/24 V from a vehicle's electrical system, so check this before ordering.
-
Integrated LED. Fittings such as Flow have a built-in LED source with no bulb to replace; check the product page for each model.
