Which I6 build it belongs to
The manufacturer assembles two different builds from the I6 profile, and each takes different end caps. The shelf is profile, rubber gasket and caps with a support. The information sign is profile, FARI mounting profile, double-sided mounting tape and caps without a support — this one. For a shelf, then, the version with a support is the part to order, not this.
For the sign build the manufacturer states a load of 50 kg per running metre of profile, with mounting tape rated at 100 kg/m². The aluminium caps reinforce the profile's self-clamping mechanism in that arrangement, so they are not a decorative end here.
The cable opening
In the I6 system the driver sits outside the profile, so the cable has to leave it somewhere — that is what the elongated opening in the middle of the cap is for. The version that closes the profile solid, without an opening, carries its own catalogue number. The cap itself screws on with two screws through the holes in its lower part.
What else is needed
Caps in this family are handed: this is the right one, and the left counterpart has its own number, 12-0315-10. Closing one run of profile takes both.
The manufacturer splits the I6 caps into a 6 mm series and an 8 mm series, and the I10 profile has its own 10 mm series — buy the series that matches the profile you have. The rubber tape for I6/I10 profiles, number 14-5057-01, and the glass or acrylic pane itself are separate catalogue items.
