Bollard Light Norlys Stavanger 1248GR Graphite RAL 7016 E27 28 cm

Stavanger 1248GR is a low Norlys bollard light shaped as a cylinder 28 cm high and 20 cm in diameter. The body is cast aluminium powder-coated in graphite (RAL 7016), and below the flat top cap runs a band of satin PMMA diffuser through which the light comes out.

Light source and the light it gives

The fitting has an E27 socket and comes without a bulb. The manufacturer allows LED lamps of the A55–A60 shape up to 9 W, so a wider decorative globe or a long candle lamp will not fit. Norlys names the Philips Master LEDbulb 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K as the source, which is warm light close to an old 60 W bulb, and the fitting can also be ordered together with that lamp. The bulb is user-replaceable.

The light passes through the satin diffuser, spreads symmetrically around the axis and is directed downwards, so the bollard lights the ground around itself.

Mounting and connection

The bollard is fixed through three Ø9 mm holes spaced at 120° on a Ø145 mm circle. The parts that anchor it in the ground are sold separately: ground anchor 1231, concreting anchor 1230, concrete foundation adapter 1232 or mounting adapter 3087. The fitting weighs 4.38 kg.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the gland takes a round-sheathed cable 8–17 mm in diameter. Fittings can be looped through, so several bollards along a path run on one cable carried from one to the next. The bollard is protection class I, so it has to be connected to the earth conductor; the supply is 220–240 V.

Where it can stand

An IP65 rating means a dust-tight housing that withstands water jets, so the bollard can stand in the garden without shelter. Impact class IK08 means resistance to an impact of 5 J. The manufacturer designed it for lighting private grounds and public areas: along a path or a driveway, on a terrace and in the grounds of a hotel or restaurant. The plain cylindrical form without ornament fits a modern and Scandinavian style. In the Stavanger series the same E27 fitting also comes in aluminium (1248AL) and as taller 50 cm (1246) and 95 cm (1243) bollards.
