NUBE is a low coffee table with a top in an irregular, organic shape β pinched in on one side, broadly rounded on the other, with a thick flowing edge. The top rests on three cylindrical legs of large diameter, set asymmetrically. The finish is matte, in olive green.
How big it is and how much room it takes
The table measures 130 cm along its longer axis, 80 cm front to back and 34 cm high. The seat of an ordinary sofa starts about 44 cm above the floor, so the top sits some 10 cm below it β you reach down for a mug, and the table does not block the view of anyone seated.
Those 80 cm of depth are worth comparing with the distance between sofa and wall or sideboard: to walk round the table comfortably, add roughly 80 cm of passage to its depth. At 130 cm long the top serves about two seats, counting the usual 60 cm per adult.
Top and legs
There are three legs, not four: two support the broader parts of the top and the third stands at the back, by the waist of the curve. The arrangement is asymmetric, so more open space is left under the top than with a four-leg frame, and each leg is close in section to the thickness of the top itself.
The table weighs 32 kg β a figure to check before carrying it upstairs and before moving it about, and not a piece of furniture you push aside one-handed while vacuuming.
Finish and care
The manufacturer gives the material as MDF board in a matte finish. Matte does not mirror point sources the way high gloss does, so reflections of lamps show less on the top. The manufacturer attaches two conditions to that top: it requires coasters or placemats, and it does not allow wet or hot dishes to touch the surface directly.
The colour is a muted olive green with a clear yellow base, closer to khaki than to a light green. The manufacturer also lists the same model in grey-beige.
