How big it is and where it goes

The 70 × 70 cm top sits at 34 cm — roughly 10 cm below the seat of a typical sofa, so a mug put down does not have to be reached up for. A table this low is not meant for eating at while seated.

A 70 cm square is usually placed 40–45 cm out from the edge of the sofa to leave a walkway, so with that gap it takes up about 110 cm measured from the sofa. It weighs 24 kg, which means it gets pushed rather than lifted one-handed.

What high gloss means day to day

The manufacturer states plainly that high-gloss surfaces scratch more easily, and recommends coasters under anything placed on the table. It also advises avoiding direct contact between the top and wet or hot dishes — a cup of tea belongs on a mat here, not on the surface.
