CULLER is a surface-mounted LED ceiling light shaped as a low white cylinder, 14.4 cm in diameter and 10 cm tall. The aluminium body has a matt finish, and underneath, set back inside the rim, sits a plastic diffuser with a fine textured surface. The fitting mounts on the ceiling surface, so it needs no cut-out in the ceiling and no plasterboard box.
Size and where it fits
The light projects only 10 cm from the ceiling, and that is all the headroom it takes. Under a low ceiling or above a passage, compare this figure with the free space between the ceiling and the top edge of a door or of wardrobe doors that open beneath it. With a 14.4 cm diameter it reads on the ceiling as a small, compact cylinder rather than a wide disc.
In our catalogue it is assigned to the hallway: a place that needs even light with nothing hanging down over the walkway.
How much light and what kind
The source is an integrated 20 W LED module delivering 1600 lm. That is more than an old 100 W bulb, so the fitting can serve as the main light in an entrance hall or corridor rather than as a secondary one. A colour temperature of 3000 K is warm white, and a colour rendering index above Ra 90 means clothes and walls keep their natural colours under it, which matters next to a hallway mirror.
The beam angle is 90°, so light leaves the fitting in a wide downward cone: the bright patch on the floor is roughly twice as wide as the distance from the fitting to the floor. The LED module is built in permanently, with no socket and no bulb to replace. The light source is included, and the manufacturer states its lifetime as 50,000 hours. The fitting runs directly on 230 V mains voltage.
Construction and style
The body is aluminium and the diffuser is plastic. The form is modern in the plainest sense: a smooth cylinder with no ornament, a single shade of white and no visible screws on the housing, so the fitting blends into a light-coloured ceiling. The CULLER series also includes other variants of this fitting.
