STRANG TABLE is a table lamp built from a single thin steel rod finished in black. The base is an open ring lying flat on the surface; from it the vertical rod rises and bends at the top into a horizontal arm. The lampholder for a screw-in bulb sits at the end of that arm — no shade, no cover.
How much surface it takes
The lamp is 46 cm tall and its base is a ring 31 cm across. That ring is what sets the space it needs — compare the 31 cm with the width of the side table or chest it will stand on. The ring is open, so the surface underneath stays visible instead of being hidden by a solid foot.
The bulb and the cable
A bulb is not included, so you buy one separately. Because the holder is exposed, the bulb itself is a visible part and decides how the lamp looks — the maker photographs it with a large decorative filament bulb. With no shade, the light is not diffused either and comes straight off the glass.
From the holder a cable in black-and-white textile braid runs down the rod and on across the surface to the socket. A switch is fitted on the cable, so the lamp is switched at the cord rather than on the body.
Build and collection
The structure is metal, uniformly black in the RAL 9005 shade. The bare, undecorated form with an exposed bulb is industrial and minimalist language — the body comes down to one line and one circle.
