BALLERINA is a silhouette of a dancer in mid-leap, cut from sheet steel, 11.5 cm tall and 7.5 cm wide. In her outstretched hands sit two open hooks — and those hooks are the entire function of the object.
What it is for
The hook is screwed to a wall or ceiling and the cable of a pendant light is laid over it. That solves two problems at once. First it shortens the drop without dismantling the fitting — the surplus cable gathers above the hook instead of hanging in a loop. Second, and more usefully, it moves the light point sideways: if the ceiling box is not above the table, you simply catch the cable over the right spot and the lamp hangs where it should — no chasing, no electrician, no relocating the wiring.
When it will not work
The hook works only with fittings suspended on a flexible cable or wire. A lamp on a rigid rod, or on a short factory-cut cable, cannot be rerouted this way. It is also worth checking before ordering that the cable is long enough to reach the hook and come back down to the height you want — moving sideways eats as much cable as the distance covered, plus slack for the curve.
Finish
Powder-lacquered steel in silky graphite — the manufacturer names the exact paint from its swatch book, P027 RAL 7022 (umbra grey), so the shade can be matched to other Nowodvorski parts from the same palette. The edges are cut and finished and the silhouette stays flat, which is what lets it throw a readable shadow onto the wall.
Before you order
The manufacturer states plainly that the mounting kit is not included — screws and plugs are chosen separately to suit the wall. EU and UKCA declarations of conformity have been issued for the product.
