Dennison is a table lamp designed by the American brand Quoizel and distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting. The body is an urn of clear glass with vertical fluting, set in a steel mount with a brushed brass finish — the neck, collar, finial and stepped square foot are brass-toned as well. The lamp is topped by a cream shade in a tapered drum shape.
Size and placement
The lamp is 80 cm tall and the shade is 43 cm in diameter, which is how much width and depth it takes up above the surface. Compare that with the bedside table, console or side table by the sofa: on a top narrower than 43 cm the shade will overhang the edge. The lamp weighs 4.9 kg, and the broad stepped base keeps it steady.
It is powered from a wall socket via a plug, so it does not need to be wired into the installation. It is Class I and intended for indoor use only.
Bulb and light
The lamp has one E27 holder for a bulb of up to 60 W; no bulb is included. Elstead recommends a classic clear E27 A60 LED bulb: 8 W, 800 lm and 3000 K, which matches the brightness of an old 60-watt bulb in warm white. The hard-backed fabric shade with a double trim directs most of the light up and down and lets it through the linen more softly.
The manufacturer states that the lamp works with dimmable smart bulbs. The fitting itself has no dimmer, so brightness is adjusted with a bulb controlled from an app or remote.
Where it fits
Quoizel describes Dennison as a classic glass and metal table lamp: the urn, fluted glass and brass profiles follow traditional living-room lamps. It suits a living room, a bedroom and a study or home office. The Dennison family also offers the same model in Paladian Bronze and in polished nickel.
