Lofoten 2012BL is a NORLYS post-top lantern: a box-shaped head in a black frame of powder-coated steel (RAL 9005), with clear panes of safety glass. It fits onto the top of a pole and is sold without the pole. The head measures 19 × 19 cm in cross-section and stands 36 cm tall including its mounting sleeve.
Which pole it fits and how it is mounted
The sleeve fits a lighting pole with a 50 mm mounting spigot, and two M6 screws set at 90° lock the lantern onto it. The pole and other accessories are ordered separately, so check the spigot diameter of your pole before buying. A 2.4 m H03V2V2H2-F 2 × 0.75 mm² cable leaves the fitting and is connected inside the pole, in a suitable junction box.
The lantern is protection class II, meaning double insulation, so no protective earth conductor is needed — two supply cores are enough. Installation and service work, following the supplied instructions, should be carried out by a person with the appropriate qualifications.
Which light source
The head has one E27 socket for an A55–A60 shaped LED lamp of up to 11 W. The lamp is not included, so the buyer chooses the colour temperature and brightness and replaces it themselves — the manufacturer describes the source as replaceable by the end user. The panes are clear, so the lamp stays visible and determines how the lantern looks after dark; around 800 lm matches an old 60 W bulb.
Weather resistance and use
IP44 means protection against water splashing from any direction, and the operating range is -20 to +45 °C. Norlys designed this model for lighting gardens, parks and other architectural settings — it works beside a house as well as in the grounds of a hotel or restaurant. The black frame and plain, unornamented glass give the lantern a loft character with an industrial edge. It is made in black as standard; other colours from the Colors Template range are available to order.
