NORLYS Lofoten 1966BL is a 105 cm bollard light: a square lantern with opal panels set on a slim post and a square base. The frame is powder-coated steel in black (RAL 9005) and the diffuser is milky PMMA. The maker describes the design as classic and simple.
Size and fixing
The lantern is 19 × 19 cm in plan, the post is 5 cm across and the base 15.3 × 15.3 cm. At 105 cm the light sits roughly at hip height, which is enough to mark a path, an entrance or the edge of a terrace. The bollard weighs 6.5 kg.
One fixing element has to be bought separately: ground anchor 206, concrete-foundation adapter 206S or mounting adapter 3080GA – the choice depends on whether the bollard goes into a lawn or onto concrete. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to loop on (up to 2 × 1.5 mm²), so several bollards along one path can run from a single cable. The EPDM gland takes round cable 7–10.5 mm across.
Bulb and light
The fitting has an E27 socket and takes an LED bulb up to 11 W. No bulb is included, so brightness and colour temperature are your choice; the bulb is user-replaceable. The fitting is not dimmable, so there is no point wiring it to a dimmer.
The opal panels hide the bulb and spread the light to every side, so the bollard glows as an even, soft block without glare, whatever the bulb shape. IP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction, and protection class II means no earth conductor is needed. The maker offers the gasket as a spare part.
Where to place it
Lofoten 1966BL is intended for a garden, beside a terrace and along the drive in front of a house. The same range also has model 1946 with clear panes and the lower, 27 cm model 1961 with an opal diffuser.
