Gea Luce GFA362 recessed downlight, black, LED 9 W 3000 K, 400 lm, IP54

GFA362 is a recessed spotlight from the Italian brand Gea Luce. The aluminium body is 70 mm across, finished in black and topped by a pronounced finned heatsink – that is what carries heat away from the LED module and underwrites the stated 50,000-hour life. The diode sits deep inside the barrel, so it is not in direct view from an angle.

The light

A 9 W CREE LED module gives 400 lm at a warm 3000 K in a narrow 24° beam. This is deliberately concentrated light – not for lighting a whole room, but for putting a beam on one thing: a worktop, a basin, a picture, a wall texture. The CRI above 90 is a figure normally seen in retail and gallery fittings: wood, fabric and leather look natural under it, without the red distortion typical of cheap diodes.

Power supply

The LED module and the driver are both included – but the driver is not integrated into the fitting; it comes as a separate unit of roughly 100 × 38 × 22 mm. It needs a place above the suspended ceiling, within reach of the cable. Driver input is 220–240 V AC.

Installation

The fitting drops into a 64 mm cut-out and is held by a pair of steel spring clips, so no screws are involved. Total height is 95 mm – that much space has to be available in the ceiling, plus slack for the cable. IP54 allows installation in a bathroom outside the direct shower zone, and over a kitchen worktop where resistance to steam and grease matters.

Variant

This code is the black version at 400 lm. Within the same family Gea Luce offers a white counterpart (GFA361, 550 lm) and square versions of both colours (GFA363 and GFA364) – check the code when ordering, since they differ in output as well as colour.
