Rendl HUE R 22 R12770 is a circular recessed LED light with a white lacquered frame and a broad illuminated face. Its slim rim avoids a substantial body hanging below the ceiling, making the design appropriate where lighting should remain visually secondary to the room's architecture.

Allow for the recess, not just the slim face

The outside diameter is 22.5 cm, while the installation opening must measure 20.5 cm across. These are different measurements. When replacing an existing fitting, compare the actual opening with the specified cut-out rather than relying on the size of the visible frame.

Rendl lists a height of 0.9 cm and a recess depth of 6 cm. The shallow appearance therefore does not mean that an equally shallow ceiling void will be sufficient. Check the available installation space before cutting a new opening or selecting the fitting for an existing ceiling.

Warm white light from integrated LEDs

The LED source is integrated into the fitting: this is not an empty trim requiring a separate screw-in bulb. This 24 W version has a colour temperature of 3000 K and a stated luminous flux of 2160 lm. Its warm white colour is worth considering alongside other lights in the room, particularly when a consistent light colour across several fittings matters.

The light is designed for a 230 V supply. The manufacturer describes dimming as available on request, so compatibility between this standard version and an existing dimmer should be confirmed separately rather than assumed.

A restrained ceiling detail

The circular form and simple white border complement modern and minimalist interiors. Rendl identifies living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and corridors among the intended settings. Consider HUE R 22 for ceiling lighting in these spaces, with the number and arrangement of fittings matched to the floor area, ceiling height and other light sources. A single fitting should not be assumed to illuminate an entire room adequately without that assessment.
