MIB 6 is a ceiling spotlight with a slim cylindrical head 6 cm across, set on a round canopy 10 cm in diameter. Everything is metal, finished matt black in RAL 9005. The series was drawn by the Danish studio Bønnelycke MDD for the Design For The People brand.
How the light is aimed
The head tilts through 90 degrees and turns through 320 degrees, so the beam reaches almost the whole circle around it: a shelf, a picture, or straight down onto a worktop. This is a spotlight with a narrow, directional beam, not a ceiling light that fills a room evenly.
The maker points out that MIB works on its own and in groups of several — a row of them lights a whole run of cabinets or a whole wall.
Which bulb to buy
The fitting has one GU10 socket, and the maker gives 8 W as the maximum bulb wattage — that is the figure to check when buying, because a stronger lamp is not intended for this fitting. No bulb is supplied, so the colour and brightness are yours to choose.
The light can be dimmed, but only with a bulb described as dimmable and a dimmer to match it — the fitting itself holds no control electronics.
Mounting and size
The canopy is 10 cm across and the whole fitting projects 23 cm below the ceiling — a measurement worth comparing with your ceiling height and with whatever stands beneath it. The spotlight weighs 0.64 kg.
It is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor. The maker states three limits: the cable cannot be replaced, the fittings are not wired in parallel — each needs its own supply — and it must not be mounted directly into thermal insulation. Its IP20 rating keeps it to dry indoor rooms.
