Nordlux Orbiform table lamp, brass and smoked glass, E27

Nordlux Orbiform is a table lamp with a smoked-glass shade and a metal base in a brushed-brass finish. A diamond relief covers the broad dome, which narrows towards the top, while a slender stem leaves the textured glass as the main visual feature. This is article 2010715047 with one E27 socket, rather than a pendant from the same collection.

Measure beyond the base

The lamp stands 46.8 cm high and its shade is 23 cm across. The circular base measures 15 cm in diameter, so the glass extends beyond the footprint. Allow for that wider outline when choosing a position. For a windowsill, compare both the available depth and the clearance beneath an opening window with the complete lamp dimensions.

Nordlux suggests a dresser, windowsill or dressing table. Orbiform can also provide decorative supplementary lighting in a living room, bedroom or on a dining-room sideboard. It is not an adjustable spotlight: its role at a dressing table differs from that of a directional task light.

Choose the bulb separately

No light source is included. Select one E27 bulb rated at no more than 40 W. Brightness and colour temperature depend on that choice, so the warm appearance in the photographs is not a fixed light-colour specification for the fitting. Nordlux lists this lamp as non-dimmable.

The black textile-covered cable is 150 cm long, with the switch on the cable. Check the route to the socket and keep the switch accessible after placing the lamp. The cable is not replaceable, an important limitation when planning how to route and protect it.

Patterned glass and a restrained support

The smoked glass, brass finish and geometric texture suit art deco and glamour interiors. A flat circular foot and narrow metal stem contrast with the densely patterned shade. The relief remains visible when the bulb is off, so the lamp's defining feature does not depend solely on its illuminated appearance.
