Nordlux Pontio garden bollard light 85 cm GU10 sand 2218208008

Nordlux Pontio 2218208008 is an 85 cm garden bollard light in a sand finish. Designed by Says Who, it combines a narrow upright with an angular head and an oblique cover. The painted aluminium has a matt, lightly textured surface. Its folded-looking planes and plain stem suit modern, minimalist outdoor schemes without decorative ornament.

Choose the GU10 bulb separately

There is one GU10 socket, accepting a bulb rated at no more than 25 W. The bulb is not included, so it needs to be selected separately. The 25 W figure is the maximum permitted bulb wattage, not a fixed power consumption for the fitting. Brightness and colour temperature depend on the bulb you install rather than on the bollard alone.

Nordlux specifies dimming with a dimmable bulb. If you want adjustable brightness, check that your selected bulb also works with the intended control equipment. A GU10 base does not in itself make every compatible bulb dimmable.

Allow space for the base and walking route

The fitting is 15 cm wide and 15 cm long, with a base dimension of 14.5 cm. Its 85 cm height places the light below eye level, making it a possible choice alongside garden paths or at a terrace edge. Compare these measurements with the available passage before installation and position the body outside the walking route.

The mounting instructions show the base screwed to a prepared supporting surface. For installation in the ground, Nordlux identifies a compatible base unit as a separate accessory. Parallel connection is supported, allowing several fittings to be considered together when planning the wiring.

Outdoor rating and electrical connection

Pontio is intended for outdoor use and is rated IP54. It operates at 220–240 V and is Class I, requiring a protective earth connection. Class I does not mean the lamp can simply be pushed directly into the soil. The manufacturer does not rate this finish for seaside locations; the sand-painted aluminium version should not be confused with the galvanized Pontio variant.
