Nordlux Pontio 27 white outdoor wall light, 2×GU10, aluminium

Nordlux Pontio 27 is a white outdoor wall light with two GU10 sockets and a broad illuminated plate. Its painted aluminium body has a matt, lightly textured finish, while the angled cover creates a pronounced side profile. Designed by Says Who, its simple planes suit modern, minimalist and Scandinavian architectural schemes.

Allowing space beside an entrance

The fitting is 27 cm wide, 19 cm high and projects 9 cm from the wall. Compare these measurements with the available facade area and the clearance required by nearby opening doors before deciding where to mount it. This is the Pontio 27 version, rather than the narrower Pontio 15.

Nordlux identifies the illuminated plate as a place for a house number or resident's name. It can therefore serve an identification role at an entrance, rather than simply throwing light onto the facade. That provision does not confirm that personalised lettering is supplied. The white body appears quieter against pale render and creates a more visible contrast against a dark wall.

Choosing the two light sources

Each GU10 socket accepts a bulb rated at no more than 25 W. This is the permitted bulb limit, not a fixed electricity consumption figure for the fitting. Brightness, colour temperature and beam angle depend on the light sources selected. Photographs showing the lamp switched on do not specify the output of the installation you will assemble.

Dimming requires dimmable bulbs and compatible control equipment; the wall light itself does not replace a dimmer. When selecting sources, consider whether their main purpose is to reveal the entrance identification or to supplement lighting along a terrace or balcony wall.

Outdoor installation requirements

The IP54 rating supports its intended outdoor use, but Nordlux does not designate this finish as suitable for seaside conditions. The fitting requires a fixed connection to a 220–240 V supply and, as a Class I luminaire, a protective earth conductor. Parallel connection of several fittings is possible. Plan their positions and wiring in accordance with the mounting instructions rather than assuming that a single wall light will illuminate an entire garden.
