Nordlux Pontio 2218208003 garden bollard, black, 85 cm, GU10

Nordlux Pontio 2218208003 is an 85 cm black garden bollard with an angular head and a sloping cover. Its painted aluminium has a matt, lightly textured surface in RAL 9005. Designed by Says Who, it combines a narrow upright body with a distinctly geometric housing around the light source.

Choose the light source separately

The single GU10 socket takes a bulb rated at no more than 25 W. A bulb is not included, so it needs to be selected separately. That choice determines the light colour and brightness; the fitting itself does not specify one fixed colour temperature or lumen output. The 25 W figure is the maximum permitted bulb wattage, not an automatic statement of the completed installation's energy consumption.

Nordlux allows dimming when a dimmable bulb is fitted. Check that the chosen bulb is also compatible with the intended control arrangement. This does not mean that the bollard has its own colour-changing function or a supplied controller. A replaceable source lets you choose its lighting characteristics independently of the fitting's appearance.

Plan the position around its dimensions

At 85 cm high, Pontio provides a low-level fixture for planning beside a garden path, terrace edge or driveway rather than on a tall lighting column. Width and length are both 15 cm, and the manufacturer gives an outdoor base dimension of 14.5 cm. Compare these measurements with the fixing area and the clear width of the adjacent route. Position the bollard beside pedestrian space rather than within it.

The IP54 rating covers limited dust ingress and protection against splashing water. Although intended for outdoor use, this variant is specifically marked as unsuitable for seaside locations. Plain surfaces, the oblique head and the matt finish support modern, minimalist and Scandinavian-style landscaping.

Power supply and installation preparation

Pontio connects to a 220–240 V mains supply. Class I construction requires a protective earth connection; it is not a statement that the fitting can simply stand unsecured on soil. The mounting instructions show base fixing and electrical connections. Parallel connection is supported, and Nordlux lists Base 22039931 as compatible ground-installation equipment, offered separately as an accessory.
