The Smart Bridge is the hub of the Nordlux Smart system — a white plastic block 6.6 cm square and 1.8 cm high, powered through a white 120 cm lead. It gives no light of its own: it connects Nordlux Smart luminaires and bulbs to the app and to your home Wi-Fi.
What the bridge adds to the Nordlux Smart system
Beyond switching and adjusting the light as you go, the bridge opens the rest of the system: schedules and lighting programmes, holiday mode, and sharing light settings with other people in the household. Those are the functions you buy it for — the light itself switches on without it.
The Nordlux Smart system works with the Amazon Alexa and Google Home assistants, so the lighting can also be controlled by voice, without reaching for a phone.
What you need to get it running
Setup runs through the Nordlux Smart Light app from the App Store or Google Play, where you choose "Setup with Bridge". The bridge works on both Wi-Fi bands — 2.4 and 5 GHz — so it will join the router whichever band that runs on.
Besides the bridge you need luminaires or bulbs from the Nordlux Smart line, because those are what produce the light. The manufacturer also notes that the wall switch feeding those lamps has to stay on — with the supply cut, the bridge cannot reach them.
Where to put it
The block takes up 6.6 × 6.6 cm and weighs 100 g, so it sits next to a router on a shelf or a desk. The power lead is 120 cm, which is the distance to compare with the run to your nearest socket.
The manufacturer states a 220–240 V supply and protection class I, meaning an earthed socket. The IP20 rating makes this a device for dry rooms only.
