Norlys Nora 2499WH LED outdoor wall light, white, 8 W 4000 K DALI2, satin glass

Nora 2499WH is a flat, square white LED outdoor wall light with a powder-coated cast aluminium body. A narrow light window along the bottom edge is closed with satin glass, so light leaves only downwards and the individual LED points are not visible.

Dimensions and mounting

The fitting measures 13 × 13 cm, projects only 5 cm from the wall and weighs 0.85 kg – on a facade it reads as a small plate. It is fixed through two ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm. The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm², and fittings are looped through with cable up to 5 × 1.5 mm² in a round sheath 7–10.5 mm across – five cores carry the supply plus the two DALI control wires.

This is a Class I luminaire, so a protective earth is required. Norlys states how many fittings one circuit breaker can carry: 46 on B10, 74 on B16 and C10, and 119 on C16.

What light it gives

The fitting emits 322 lm at 8 W, in 4000 K, which is neutral white. The light is one-sided and directed downwards, with nothing going up (ULOR 0%): the fitting draws a wash on the wall below itself and lights an entrance or path, not the sky.

The driver supports DALI2 control, so the fitting is dimmed and switched from a DALI system rather than with an ordinary phase dimmer. Norlys rates the module at more than 102,000 h (L80) and the driver at 100,000 h. The LED module and driver are replaced by a professional service, using service kit ZN2499XX0009.

Weather resistance

IP65 means the housing is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so the light can hang on an exposed wall. IK09 is a high impact rating, useful at entrances and passageways. A silicone gasket seals the light window.

Nora 2499 also comes in other colours, and the Nora family includes clear-glass versions in which the individual LED points are visible.
