CL IOS is a surface-mounted luminaire from the Polish brand Nowodvorski – a black tube 13.5 cm in both diameter and height, with a deeply recessed silver reflector.
Surface-mounted, not recessed – no hole to cut
Despite the "downlight" label this fitting does not disappear into the ceiling: it screws straight to the substrate and the whole body stays proud. That suits places with no void above the ceiling – a concrete slab, a flat with no suspended ceiling, or anywhere cutting an aperture would be awkward.
A deep reflector against glare
The diode sits set back inside a silver reflector. That has a specific purpose: looked at from the side, you do not see the source, only the dark interior of the tube. It can therefore hang in the line of sight – above a counter, in an office, in a restaurant – without the glowing dot that tires the eyes. The narrow 36° beam supports the same effect: the light goes down, not sideways.
2,700 lumens and CRI above 90
At 30 W the fitting delivers 2,700 lm, and colour rendering is ≥ 90 – clearly above the usual CRI 80. That combination gives away the intent: a strong, concentrated beam with faithful colour is display and commercial lighting. Over a shop window, a counter, a restaurant table or a reception desk it will show materials and products without distortion. 4000 K (neutral white) is the standard in such places because it reads as clean and does not yellow whites.
Construction and installation
The body is aluminium and Zamak alloy – a casting that carries the heat away from a 30 W module, which is what underwrites the stated 50,000 hours. The light source is permanently built in and supplied. Protection class I requires an earth conductor, and the IP20 rating places it in dry interiors. Supply 220–230 V. Warranty: 5 years.
