Outdoor Wall Light NORLYS Koster Pro 1838AL light grey LED 19.4 W 4000 K DALI2

Koster Pro 1838AL is a NORLYS outdoor wall light with a domed shade on a straight arm, cast in aluminium and powder-coated in light grey RAL 9006. A hermetic lens of clear PMMA closes the shade from below, and the integrated LED module gives neutral white light at 4000 K. The manufacturer also allows mounting on the corner of a building.

How big it is and how it is installed

The shade is 24.5 cm across, the whole fitting stands 24 cm tall, and the arm holds it 44 cm out from the wall — the clearance needed in front of the facade. The round wall plate is 12 cm in diameter and the light weighs 2.86 kg. It is intended for facades and for lighting the area around a building, including hotels and restaurants; its smooth dome on a slim arm is Scandinavian and modern.

It is screwed to the wall through three ø7 mm holes, and other accessories are ordered separately. The terminals take up to 5 × 2.5 mm², also when looping through to the next light. The supply cable must have a round sheath 7–10.5 mm in diameter.

How much light, and what kind

The LED module produces 2927 lm, and 2732 lm leaves the fitting at 19.4 W, which is 140.8 lm/W. The Ledil T2-L lens has an IESNA type III distribution: light spreads wide along the facade and reaches forward onto the ground in front. ULOR 0 % means nothing shines upwards — the sky and the wall above the light stay dark.

4000 K is a neutral white, cooler than a traditional bulb. CRI 70 means facade colours and plants look less true under it than at Ra 80 and above. The module's L90B10 lifetime exceeds 100,000 hours.

DALI2 control, sealing and servicing

The driver runs on DALI2 with the NightDim function and is factory-programmed to maximum current. Dimming needs a DALI controller and bus — an ordinary phase-cut dimmer will not work with this fitting.

IP45 means protection against water jets from any direction and against objects larger than 1 mm, while the optical kit itself — the LED module with its lens — is sealed to IP67. Protection class I means it needs a protective earth conductor; it operates from -20 to +45 °C. Only a professional service replaces the LED module and driver, using the NORLYS service kit ZS1838zx0009.
