Rendl BRENDA R14202 is a black outdoor surface-mounted light for walls or ceilings. Its short cylindrical body combines two dark circular ends with a transparent side section and a white light-diffusing element inside. The compact outline provides a distinctly geometric alternative to an outdoor lantern with a projecting arm.
Sideways light rather than a spotlight beam
The integrated 9 W LED is included, so there is no separate bulb to select for this fitting. A colour temperature of 3000 K gives warm white light, while the manufacturer specifies a luminous flux of 1010 lm. Light spreads evenly to the sides, making the distribution different from the concentrated beam of a directional spotlight.

The body measures 11.8 cm in diameter and 9 cm in height. Compare these dimensions with the intended mounting area, especially close to a door frame or the edge of a soffit. This is a surface-mounted fitting, not a recessed downlight, so its cylindrical body remains visible after installation.
Rendl identifies entrances, terraces and areas along the house as suitable outdoor settings. The IP65 rating supports outdoor use. Simple circles, black detailing and the absence of ornament suit modern and minimalist architecture without introducing the shape of a traditional lantern.
Electrical connection and handling
BRENDA uses a 230 V supply, and the manufacturer confirms that the transformer is included. The manual requires installation by a qualified installer with power switched off at the circuit breaker beforehand. It also warns that the shade is fragile and needs careful handling.
