s.luce Oris linear LED pendant light 160 cm, white, 2700K, 64W, dimmable with remote

The s.luce Oris is a linear pendant 160 cm long with a 3.4 × 2.9 cm section, in a white finish. The body is aluminium and a plastic diffuser runs the full length of the underside. The maker builds it by hand in Germany.

How much light it gives

The fitting draws 64 W and gives 6400 lm — roughly what eight old 60 W bulbs gave, only spread evenly along 160 cm of lit edge. That is main lighting over a table or a kitchen island rather than mood lighting.

2700 K is a warm, slightly yellow white close to a traditional bulb. A colour rendering index above Ra 90 means colours read almost as they do in daylight, and the 110° beam spreads the light wide instead of drawing a narrow band under the bar.

Control and light source

This is the radio-remote version: the remote both switches the fitting and sets its brightness. No wall dimmer and no dimmable bulb are needed — the electronics are inside the luminaire.

The light comes from a high-output LED strip mounted inside the profile. The manufacturer states that replacing it should be done only by trained personnel; it is not a part you change yourself the way you change a bulb. The declared life is 25,000 hours, about 22 years at three hours a day.

Size and mounting

The bar is 160 cm long — a figure to measure against your own table or worktop, since the model is also made in lengths from 120 to 400 cm. The canopy sits centrally above the bar and the drop adjusts on its cables up to 150 cm; the lower edge is normally set 70–80 cm above the table top.

Supply is 230 V and the IP20 rating restricts installation to dry interiors. The energy efficiency class is F and the carton weighs 3.1 kg.
