SALAMANCA O031FL-01BR is a retro-styled garden post light: a lantern with four milky glass panes in a metal frame, on a fluted column that tapers upward from a flared base. The body is cast aluminium with a brown powder coating.
How tall it is and how much room it takes
The fitting stands 105 cm. The lantern is the top 29 cm, the column 59.5 cm and the base 12 cm. The lantern therefore sits at roughly adult waist height — above low perennials and grasses but below eye level, so it lights the path around it instead of shining into the eyes of anyone walking past.
The base occupies a 22.5 × 22.5 cm square and the lantern is 17.7 cm across. Those are the figures to compare with the width of the border beside your path or the strip of soil between kerb and lawn. The post weighs 2.42 kg and the height is fixed — nothing about the structure adjusts.
What light it gives
The lantern takes one E27 bulb of up to 60 W. The manufacturer states a 360° beam angle because the glass surrounds the source on every side — the light spreads all round the post rather than in one direction.
Colour and brightness come with the bulb you choose. A lantern of this style is usually paired with 2700 K, warm and yellowish like the old incandescent; around 800 lm matches the old 60 W. The milky glass diffuses the source, so the bulb does not read as a point. The fitting itself has no dimming circuit — the manufacturer lists it as non-dimmable.
Weather and wiring
IP44 covers splashing water from any direction, which means rain and lawn sprinklers. It does not cover jets or submersion, so the post does not belong in a hollow that holds water after heavy rain, and it is not to be cleaned with a pressure washer.
The manufacturer gives an operating range of -40 to +50 °C, which covers winter with room to spare, and the cast aluminium under powder coating resists corrosion and temperature swings. The luminaire is protection class I, so the supply cable needs a protective earth conductor — it is wired with an earth. Supply voltage falls in the 100–260 V AC range.
