NUMINOS L CL PHASE is a surface-mounted ceiling luminaire, a cylinder 10 cm across, in matt black. It delivers 2300 lumens at 20 W in warm white 2700 K, and its head rotates and tilts.

A surface fitting that aims like a spotlight

This is not a fixed downlight. NUMINOS CL is rotatable and tiltable, so once mounted on the ceiling the output can be aimed where it is needed – at a picture wall, a worktop, a shelving unit – and changed later without touching the installation. The 60° beam is a sensible compromise: wider than a spot, narrower than a general fitting, so it gives a readable area of light without a hard edge.

The intensity distribution is rotationally symmetric and the emission direct. Photobiological risk group: 1.

2300 lumens at 20 W – 115 lm/W

Twenty watts give 2300 lm here, about 115 lumens per watt. At that level one fitting genuinely replaces several weaker ones: 2300 lm directed downwards in a 60° beam will light a work zone or a defined part of a room unaided.

It comes with CRI 90 and a colour of 2700 K – distinctly warm, closer to the old incandescent than to typical office white. That combination (warm colour, high colour rendering, high output) is characteristic of retail and hospitality lighting, where goods and food have to look credible while the room stays welcoming. Rated life: 50,000 hours.

Phase dimming

The fitting dims by trailing-edge phase control. That matters when choosing a dimmer: it must be rated for LED load and trailing-edge operation. Old leading-edge dimmers can cause flicker or buzz.

Up to 78 fittings on one circuit

The datasheet gives 78 loop-through wires and the same number of fittings permitted on a B16A or C16A breaker. That is a very high figure, and it follows from the low inrush current: 10 A for just 50 µs. In practice it means a retail lighting run need not be split across many circuits purely because of switch-on currents – a real saving in the distribution board.

The body is aluminium, finished in matt black. Dimensions: 21.3 cm long, 18 cm high, 10 cm in diameter; net weight 1.129 kg, gross 1.453 kg – a solid, heavy fitting, so the mounting point has to be prepared accordingly.

Supply 220–240 V AC 50/60 Hz, secondary current 500 mA, protection class I (earth conductor required). Ingress protection IP20 – dry interiors. Permitted ambient temperature: −20 to 45 °C, which covers unheated but dry stores and covered retail space.
