Sol 4048CS Rust-Colored Outdoor Ceiling Light with LED, NORLYS

NORLYS Sol 4048CS is an outdoor LED ceiling light with a cylindrical body and a rust-coloured finish. The manufacturer calls this colour variant Corten Steel, but specifies aluminium for the body and transparent glass for the light cover. The finish name should therefore not be read as a claim that the entire fitting is made from weathering steel.

A compact fitting beneath a roof

The light measures 20 × 20 × 11 cm and is designed for ceiling mounting. Compare its 11 cm projection with the space available beneath your ceiling or beam before choosing a position. Its simple circular form, without decorative arms, suits modern and minimalist schemes. The rust-coloured version is a distinct finish, not the black or graphite alternative.

Ceiling mounting makes Sol suitable for a covered terrace, balcony, gazebo or the underside of an entrance canopy. It provides light from above rather than producing vertical beams on a façade as a wall light would. Its IP65 rating supports outdoor installation but does not change the specified mounting orientation.

Neutral white light and DALI2

The built-in LED source has a colour temperature of 4000 K. The complete fitting delivers 2227 lm, whereas the LED module itself produces 2400 lm. When comparing the brightness of different fittings, use the complete luminaire output rather than the source figure alone. Total fitting power is 19.1 W and source power is 16.8 W. The symmetrical distribution is directed downwards, so positioning should follow the area beneath the light that you intend to illuminate.

This version uses DALI2 control. Where the project includes lighting control, the installation needs to be compatible with that system. DALI2 is not, by itself, a statement of wireless phone control.

Prepare the electrical connection

The mains supply range is 220–240 V and the fitting is protection class I. The manufacturer specifies two 5 mm mounting holes spaced 100 mm apart. The connection is intended for a round-sheathed cable with an outside diameter of 7–10.5 mm. Installation must follow the manufacturer's instructions, including the requirements for the cable and protective-earth connection.
