The VT-81001 is a V-TAC microwave motion sensor with 360° detection, designed for surface mounting on a ceiling. Its flat, round polycarbonate (PC) housing is white, measuring 115 mm in diameter and 24.3 mm in height.
How the sensor works
The sensor detects motion using microwave technology within a radius of 1 to 8 m, and the detection range can be adjusted to match the size of the room. It operates across a temperature range of -20°C to +45°C, which allows installation in unheated spaces such as a garage or stairwell. Its IP20 rating limits mounting to dry indoor areas, however — the sensor is not intended for locations exposed to moisture or rain.
The low-profile housing, only 24.3 mm high, projects only slightly below the ceiling surface it's mounted on.
Power supply and load
The sensor runs on 220-240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. The maximum load on the connected circuit is 1000 W — the combined wattage of the light fittings wired to it should stay within that limit.
Build and warranty
The housing weighs 0.16 kg, and the manufacturer backs it with a 5-year warranty. The sensor carries CE, EMC and RoHS certification.
