Aldex Flask Table L Mimosa opal glass table lamp 8500B21_L with bulb

Flask Table L Mimosa is an Aldex table lamp designed by Mikołaj Nicer (Nicer Design) for the Artera brand: a milky-white opal glass body 27 cm in diameter that stands directly on the surface, with a yellow cord in RAL 1006. The name Mimosa refers only to the cord — the shade is white in every variant of the collection.

How much light, and what kind

The lamp has one E27 socket for an LED bulb of up to 15 W, and the light source is included. It is replaceable, so the colour and brightness can be changed later by fitting another E27 bulb within the 15 W limit. The opal glass spreads the light over the whole shade, and a small glass disc at the top hides the source, so the bulb stays out of sight even when you look down at the lamp. The manufacturer intends it as additional, ambient light.

Size and use

The shade is 27 cm across, so the lamp takes up an area of about 27 × 27 cm — the space to set aside on a chest of drawers, a console or a side table beside a sofa or armchair, which is where the manufacturer places it. It weighs 2.1 kg. It is switched on with a switch on the cord, without reaching for the shade or a wall switch.

Construction and collection

The shade is opal glass with a gloss finish, its form inspired by the classic milk bottle. The lamp is made in Poland. The Flask collection includes table lamps in sizes S, M and L, an XL floor lamp and pendant lamps, each with seven cord colours — so Table L Mimosa can be paired with a Flask pendant on the same yellow cord. The simple, rounded body with no visible fixings suits modern and minimalist interiors: a living room, bedroom, office or study.
