FORM 2 FLOOR is a floor lamp with two conical metal shades mounted on one slim rod above a round base. The whole lamp is finished in matt black, and the insides of the shades are white. It stands 163 cm tall.

How the shades adjust

Each shade sits on its own joint, so the two can be aimed independently — one down at a book beside an armchair, the other sideways or up at the wall. The shades are held away from the rod on short arms — the upper one is 10 cm long. The white inside of each cone throws the light in the direction the shade faces, and the black outside lets none through.

The round base is 30 cm across, and with the shades swung out the lamp takes up about 30 × 50 cm of floor — a figure to compare with the space behind a sofa or next to an armchair.

Bulbs and switching

The lamp has two E27 sockets, each taking an LED bulb of up to 15 W — the manufacturer does not allow higher-wattage traditional bulbs. Both shades run on one circuit: they switch on and off together, and one cannot be lit alone. The switch is on the power cord, near the floor. Each shade is 16 cm in diameter.

Which rooms it suits

Geometric cones and a straight vertical rod make a modern form. The lamp works as a reading light in a living room, bedroom or study, and also in a dining room, hotel or restaurant.
