Annie is a three-light wall light by Feiss (Generation Lighting), distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting. A vertical stem rises from a round backplate and sends out two curved arms; the three candle holders with flat bobeches sit at different heights, so the arrangement is asymmetric. The steel frame is coated in a thick layer of white textured plaster – the surface is rough and matt, like hand-thrown mortar.
Size and installation
The light is 61 cm tall, 25.7 cm wide and projects 12.7 cm from the wall. That is larger than a typical wall light, so measure the free stretch of wall before buying – above a chest of drawers, either side of a mirror or beside a doorway. It weighs 1.2 kg, is protection class I, so the wall box must provide an earth conductor, and is for indoor use only.
Which bulbs
The light has three E14 lampholders, each for a bulb of up to 40 W. Bulbs are not included. The holders have no shades, so the bulbs are fully on show and their shape sets the look – clear glass candle bulbs suit it best, and the manufacturer recommends exactly such an E14 LED candle as a separately sold accessory. The fitting is compatible with dimmable bulbs: with a dimmer you need three bulbs marked as dimmable. Exposed bulbs shine directly, so lower-brightness bulbs are more comfortable where people sit nearby for long.
Style and use
The manufacturer places Annie in the coastal genre, known in interiors as the Hampton style: white, natural texture and a simple, light form. The light recalls old wall candle sconces, but without ornament or metallic shine. It is intended for dining rooms.
