Kai is an Alora Mood wall light shaped as a half-round bowl flaring upwards, woven in a rattan-look weave and set on a ribbed cylindrical collar in brushed gold. The weave is a natural honey brown, and the metal frame is steel. The fitting is distributed by Elstead Lighting.
Size and installation
The wall light is 35 cm wide, 24.6 cm high and projects 17.8 cm. The wide bowl fills a bare stretch of wall above a chest of drawers, a bed or in a corridor; in a narrow passage, compare the 17.8 cm depth with the space left to walk past. It weighs 1.15 kg. It is Class I, so the earth conductor is connected during installation.
Bulbs and light
Inside are two E14 sockets for bulbs of up to 40 W each; no bulbs are included. The bowl is open at the top, so most of the light goes onto the wall and ceiling above, while a warm glow with small gaps shows through the weave. Two LED bulbs of 250–470 lm at 2700 K are enough for this kind of mood light. With dimmable bulbs and a dimmer, brightness can be adjusted.
Which rooms it suits
The manufacturer lists the living room, bedroom, dining room and corridor. A natural-coloured weave with gold details fits a rustic and boho style; the Kai series also includes a flush light and a small pendant with the same weave, so several rooms can share a matching look.
